Entitlement to personal assistance is assessed individually under the applicable rules. The municipality or the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes the decision depending on the individual situation. Apricot can help you understand the process and organise relevant questions, but does not make the authority decision.

Does Apricot support both adults and children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Apricot provides personal assistance for adults as well as children and families. The assistance is shaped around the individual person, their life situation, preferences and needs.

Question 3

Can I contact Apricot while applying for personal assistance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You are welcome to contact us before, during or after an application. We can provide administrative guidance, help you structure relevant questions and explain possible next steps. The responsible public authority decides entitlement and the extent of the assistance.

Question 4

Can I talk to Apricot about changing provider, and can my current assistants continue?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An initial conversation is non-binding. Existing assistants may sometimes be able to continue, but this cannot be promised in advance. Each assistant decides whether to apply for new employment, and Apricot must complete its normal recruitment and employer assessment.

Does Apricot provide personal assistance throughout Sweden?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Apricot welcomes enquiries from across Sweden. When and how an assistance arrangement can begin depends on the individual situation, location, staffing and practical circumstances.

Is Apricot authorised by IVO?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Apricot Assistans is authorised by the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) to provide personal assistance.

What happens after I contact Apricot?

Accepted Answer

We review your enquiry, direct it to the person best placed to help and follow up using the contact method you have provided. We then clarify the most important questions and explain possible next steps.

What information should I share when I first contact Apricot?

Accepted Answer

It is enough to briefly explain what your question concerns and how you would like to be contacted. Please do not send personal identity numbers, medical records, diagnoses or other sensitive documents through the standard form or ordinary email. Apricot will explain how information should be shared securely if more detail is needed.
